Local Priorities Drug dealing/ drug use Update |
||
I wanted to provide an update regarding drug dealing / drug use, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.
Yesterday evening at 1730hrs, PC Warrilow from West End Town Centre Team B was on foot patrol in Chinatown when he saw a suspicious car parked up behind the Hippodrome on Little Newport Street, the driver was not shown as either the registered keeper or the insured policy holder / named driver and grounds were formed which led to him being detained and searched under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act. During the search PC Warrilow recovered Class A drugs and inside the vehicle were 83 snap bags and miniature electronic scales. We are committed to tackling drug dealing wherever we find it. We will keep you updated on our efforts to do this in your area, but if you have any concerns or evidence, it is important you report this as soon as possible.
If you ever experience this issue or have information regarding an incident, please report it using our online reporting tools at https://www.met.police.uk/, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101.
Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org.
We are working on our brand-new strategy for how we police London and we want your help. Our New Met for London: Phase 2 strategy will guide how we deliver on behalf of Londoners over the next three years. | ||
